Last week, USCIS updated H-1B registration and selection data for FY 2023. For FY 2023, USCIS received 483,927 H-1B registrations and initially selected 127,600 registrations. Compared with FY 2022, the H-1B registration for FY 2023 increased 57%.
Employers and their attorneys should have received an email in the end of March, 2022 to notify them to login their myUSCIS account to access the H-1B selection notice, which includes details about when and where to file. The filing window for the first-round selection is June 30, 2022.
For peoples who were not selected in the first-round H-1B selection, they should keep an eye on possible second selection. Based on USCIS’s previous practice, it is very likely that USCIS will conduct a second selection in July or August, 2022. Actually, for FY 2022, USCIS received 308,613 H-1B registrations and initially selected 87,500 registrations. Due to low filing H-1B petitions from the initial selection, USCIS conducted a second selection in July 2021. In November 2021, USCIS conducted a third selection. So a total of 131,970 registrations was selected for FY22.
